Eleven minutes can seem like an eternity when you’re being attacked.
That’s how long Kim Schildmeyer and her family were huddled in a tiny motel bathroom, fighting off a man who was determined to hurt them.
Among the family members Kim was protecting was her daughter, son-in-law (who was recovering from open-heart surgery), 5-year old grandson, and her 78-year old mother who suffers from Alzheimers.
Kim not only got her family to safety and kept the attacker at bay—she also managed to call 911 and direct police to her location during those terrifying 11 minutes.
